I am excited to announce that I’ll be hosting another immersive 3 day Landscape Painting Workshop at the gorgeous Karoo Art Hotel in Barrydale. The dates are set for October 23,24 and 25 in 2026.
Its a chance to slow down, paint and connect with your creative self. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just beginning a painting journey, this workshop offers a supportive inspiring space to explore new techniques, refine your skill and connect with other like minded artists.

A fantastic three-day workshop at the Karoo Art Hotel with Donna McKellar. It was a special time fully dedicated to art, learning new techniques and sharing creativity.

I’ve learned to start with very thin layers instead of starting with thick paint with the final picture in mind. Slowly building up with transparent thin layers to the final layer with all the fine detail. Very informative. Doing the colour swatches beforehand also made me think more about the mixing of colors to get the correct shade.
The accommodation at the Barrydale Art Hotel was very comfortable and the food delicious. I can definately recommend the hotel. Position is great with all the local shops and art galleries. All walking distance. Great hosts. Nelia
Donna’s Landscape workshop at the Karoo Art Hotel was truly wonderful. Donna was incredibly generous sharing her valuable techniques and knowledge, and I found the whole experience deeply enriching. It was inspiring, challenging in the best way, and it gently pushed me to question some of my own limiting mindsets. I left feeling creatively refreshed and motivated.
