Donna McKellar’s love affair with art started at a very young age, and today that love continues to consume most of her waking hours as she pursues her relationship with oil paint, colour, value, texture, light and the imagery of her memories. Donna likens learning how to paint to learning another language.
She says “I paint because I want to say something through my art, I want to convey a message, a thought or a feeling. To learn the language of art one has to study the vocabulary, grammar and accents of this new language. Its a daily dance with brushes, canvasses and paint, drawing out the inner moments in my memories and consciousness, and trying to produce a work of art that fluently conveys my unknown story.” Read More
