An abandoned train station sits patiently next to a railway line, where the train never stops. Long since used for the public, a freight train barrels through this quiet hamlet of 7 or 8 buildings, most abandoned, but a few inhabited by families who work on farms in the area. Donna captured this scene with the mountains bearing witness to the decay, while the evening light brings promise of a better tomorrow.
Vondeling Station is next to Uitleg and is found in Cacadu District Town, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Vondeling surrounds have a tranquil sky with scenic mountain and vineyard views, with Table Bay and Mountain in the distance. Also, this area is rich in fynbos, with four species which are unique to the Paardeberg mountain. – Babiana noctiflora, Erica hippuris, Oscularia paardebergenis and Serruria roxberghii.
